    A few quick questions and maybe I can help.
    1.) Did you install from a CD or Steam?
    2.) Do you have the latest drivers installed? (video, sound and NIC)
    3.) Make sure you allow COD4mp.exe access threw the firewall.
    4.) If know this may sound odd but run a disk defrag. (some files maybe fragmented causing the drive to search too much locking it up)
    5.) Make sure you have the lasted Patch for COD4

    NIC = Network Interface Card.
    You never want to run a PC with out anti-virus or without a fire wall.
    1.) get an anti-virus, yes i know windows 7 is not out but it still has a chance or getting a virus.
    2.) You can check the firewall setting in windows inside the control panel make sure you have view all items check. You can then find the icon. Sorry im not at the windows 7 machine right now Im at work.
    3.) Find out what hardware you are running, yes Win7 is new but hardware makers are creating drivers for video so you much look into having the newest drivers some times windows update misses the newest version which will fix some past bugs.

    well, i cant install the latest drivers for my graphics card, as i have endless problems with them ..

    in a nutshell, it thinks its not installed when it is, and so u have to re-install the drivers every start up :/

    so i am using "working" drivers

    i havent got any of the cod 4 patches yet, wil look at getting them in a minute ..

    i will try the defrag ..

    tho i will be SURPRISED if it is that, considering this was only installed bout a week ago :?
