Sorry to say but I found this when searching for Sims 2 compatibility,

    Hey, folks.

Unfortunately, The sims 2 was not tested for compatibility under Windows 7; our best advice is to run the game under Win98 or XP compatibility mode.

    Welcome to seven forum

On moreawesomethanyou (a sims mod board) several users claim they run Sims2 on W7...so theoretically it should run.
I don't run Sims2 but one thing you could try: instead of using the normal starter, go into the TSBin directory (of the latest extension you've installed and run the exe you'll find there in compatibility mode for XP SP2.
For Example if your last Expansion would be Bon Voyage you should start Sims2EP6.exe.

    Good luck

i was able to make them all run but there is some expansion i cannot install.

family stuff, glamour and teen style. i put the serial but then it won't go to the next step at all.

and i've also installed the sims 1 but it doesn't run, doesn't give me any error at all either.

Sims One is at least 10 years old. If you ever get that to run on Windows 7 then probably only in compatibility mode for Windows 98 or even Windows 95.

As for the sims 2 extensions...they'e not any different than the ones you already installed. My guess would be a misread serial number like an O and 0, I or l and 1 , B and 8 etc.

Sorry, butYou have me a bit confused here.
Can't you install them or can't you run them?

family stuff, glamour and teen style are NOT Extensions but Stuff packs. After they have been installed, you need to run the last extension you have!!! (like Bon voyage or Pets or whatever you have installed last) The new stuff will then show up with the regular items in Buy/Build mode.

I don't know about Sims 1, but Sims 2 + all expansions (yes, i have them all) worked perfectly for me, without any tweaks.

However, I did hear that there can be a potential problem playing Sims 2 if you haven't installed the expansions in the correct order: Order of "The Sims 2" Expansion Packs - The Order to Install "The Sims 2" Expansion Packs

Try and do a clean install/regular reinstall in the order shown in the list.
