Running Total Annihilation under Win 7

Hi, I am running Win 7 build 7127 x64, and I am having some trouble running Total Annihilation. I was able to install the game, but had some issues installing Core Contingency(I installed it on a computer running XP, copied the files to my install, and hoped the reg wouldnt need to be tweaked. Now when running the game it exits every time and trys to solve compatibility issues, but fails. I have tried running it in compatibility for XP and 98, but havent had any success. Does anyone know how to make this game work under win 7?

Hey sorry about taking so long

i have windows rc1 64bit (specs are on my name) and the game runs fine i was playing for about 20min ... And will keep playing this awesome game

i also did not have to run in compatibility mode either

have you tried reinstalling, the only other thing i can think of is you have missed files when you were coping them over

maybe try a torrent to get the game cd back again, and use your existing cd key

Ok so you have copyed the core contingeny from a machine that does work ie xp to your windows 7 machine

Right now what you need to do is download this file http://www.tcbw.net/anonftp/TA/3rdPa...fix2_setup.exe , run the file .. this should install the files to the registry... And voila TA with CC should work , have fun :)

The above link in moleman's post dosen't work. I'm having the EXACT same issues as shadowers. TA installs just fine, but the setup.exe file on the Core Contingency CD refuses to run due to it being incompatible on a 64bit OS. >sigh<

I don't want to install CC on a diffrent PC and then copy it over onto my main PC, I just want a proper installer. I've tried doing searches for the file: tafix2_setup.exe with no luck. Apparently the tcbw.net site is offline, or dead; as I get a DNS error from it. I'll keep that download link in my bookmarks and see if it comes back later on.

Perhaps someone has a .reg file I can import for TA:CC? And a simple batch file that copies the appropriate files from the CD onto my HDD where I have TA installed?

i am just trying to play the game. i downloaded an iso of the game and after i go into the game press skirmish and then press start for the game to play it looks as if it is loading up but when it gets the 2nd to last bar needed to load the game shuts down and goes back to windows.

    i have windows 7. obviously.

The link still works fine for me?

Another easy way to get TA with CC to work is to just copy the contents of the cd to the directory on the pc and just run the game. The game will sometimes hang with this method so the first option i explained is the better way!

I am using win 7 home premium and have tried all the suggested fixes from this page. My issue is after running for a few minutes, the the screen turns red and I have to quit the game and restart. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
