Directx - trying to install Need for Speed Most wanted

Not sure if this is right place to put this so feel free to move it if it isn't. I am trying to install Need for Speed Most wanted but as soon as I put the serial number in it tells me I do not have directx installed. Where do I go to find out if it is actually installed(other games work fine) ... I went to syswow64r folder and opened the directx folder in there but it is empty.... not sure where else to look.

    Thanks

Try installing the latest update of the DirectX End-User Runtime. You can get that from: Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

Try these - Download details: DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). Extract, find the .exe and install.

The other link is the web installer which just checks your system and installs updated files as needed. However it should have worked for you.

    Let us know.

What do you mean nothing showed up in a "folder"??? What folder, do you have a screen shot?

When you installed the Direct x files I linked to... did you get an error? If not, all is good.

Hmmm.... I don't seem to have that folder, but I also have no Direct X problems. Can you provide an address as to where that folder is??? I know you say syswow64 but...

BTW have you tried the game since updating the direct x files??? Does it play???

Hmmm.... just realized I hadn't updated my DX files since my last system repair. Thus here's the before DX update....

And here's after the DX update...

And yes, the folder is empty, but it shouldn't be an issue.

As to your game issue.... try playing the game first, than complain if it still doesn't work "after" the DX update
