Best games to use with 360 controller

First of all, is the 360 controller natively supported by Windows 7 (as in I plug it in and it works?)

Furthermore which are the best games to play with a 360 controller? On top of my list is FIFA 11 at the moment, and I don't know any more games actually....
Keep in mind that I have a steering wheel, so racing games aren't really an option. I was more thinking of Saints Row 2, since I remembered that was just a horrible port, and maybe it's more enjoyable with a 360 controller?

you're going to need drivers for the wireless xbox controllers - easily available from microsoft.

the only games i use my controller for are racing games (eg dirt2) - but as you say you already have a wheel for this.

i hate using the controller for shooters, and have yet to find a use for it on other games. mouse and keyboard ftw.

any game labelled as 'games for windows - live' should support the xbox controller as standard - other games are a bit hit and miss.

Bioshock and Dead Rising 2 are the games I use the Xbox controller with the most, and it works well. Also, MLB 2K9 works great with it, once you set up the controls.

Batman Arkham Manor and Mass Effect1 and 2 - also the Assassin's Creed games

    - all four are a nightmare to play without a controller of some kind..

How do you get the Xbox 360 controller to work on mass Effect?
It doesn't work on mine unless Im missing something.

I use my 360 Controller for all Tomb Raider games.
I find it much easier than the Keyboard+Mouse.

Racing Games (Though I play few)

Although some may prefer the Keyboard, Its also has excellent integrated support with a few titles like Bioshock, Fallout 3 and Resident Evil 5.

Supposedly any title that has the "Games for Windows" is supposed to support it.
But not for Bioshock 2 And they say there will not be 360 controller support.
Wouldnt that mean it can not have the GFW label?

+1. typically I prefer Keyboard+Mouse for FPS games.

RE5 was much easier for me with the controller.

    @DirtyElf
As far as Im aware, the only console controllers that work with Windows are the Xbox 360 ones.

And of course you have PC controllers as well you can choose from.

There are ways but it looks like it's a bit of a pain. People have even connected Wii controllers to their PC's also. Most things are possible with the right equipment.

Personally i use an official Xbox 360 wired controller, mostly for Dirt 2.

Racing games in particular are far better with an Xbox 360 controller due to the analog sticks.
