Windows 7: diner dash 5-boom collectors edition

diner dash 5-boom collectors edition

I just installed dd5-boom collectors edition. when i run the game, i get to select gender, then it comes to a gift screen, and a level gets to start. As soon as i click the play button game crashes and i get message:

Windows 7 Ultimate x86

Those BigFish games aren't always known for their stability.
Try running it in Compatibility mode for XP

Have you updated your directx files?

5 - Update your Direct X files - Contrary to popular belief, just because Windows 7 is DX11 capable doesn’t mean it has the latest DX9 files!!! Most game issues can be fixed by simply updating the DX files.

compability thing does not help. DX is up to date, i tried other forums, updated shockwave player and is working now. appreciate your help though, thank you very much :)
