    Playing console on laptop

I have a playstation and an xbox and sometimes my brother plays one while i would like to play the other, i cant do this as im my room i only have one tv. On my laptop i have a HDMI out port, i was wandering if there is any software which will let me connect my playstation to my laptop through HDMI? And if this is not possible is there any external hardware which will let me do this.

I don't believe there is any software that will let you do this. As far as hardware, you can buy a capture card for your laptop and use that; however you'd probably end up using a component port instead of HDMI because capture cards are generally seen as intercepting signal and therefore, they may not allow you to view the content via HDMI for your PS3. Something like this Newegg.com - Hauppauge HD PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder 1212 USB 2.0 Interface may work.
