guesswork is not the best way to solve logical puzzles.

    logic works much better.

maybe you aren't getting that 5/9 correct means that 5 out of nine letters in the right place are correct.

hopefully the spreadsheet below will make things clearer - i have highlighted cells that contain letters in the same place (ie column) as the answer, and added up the boxes on the right.

i can try to explain it some more if you still don't get it. :)

I think you're missing the point, myself, Wishmaster, and smarteyeball was talking about..... there's no rhythm to the puzzles, not that it can't be solved.

In fallout 3, there WAS a rhythm, that's the point

Anyways you've managed to provide the clue we were so easily missng.

Anyone getting hard lockups in the Ultra Luxe hotel's bath house? Evertime I go in there the game hard locks afer walking around for about a minute. I can duplicate this everytime, even if I start from when I first enter the hotel, everything is fine until I enter the bath house.

Anyway there doesn't seem to be a task there so I'll stay away from it. Just curious to see if anyone else had the same experience there.

    no problems here.

there was something i needed to do in the steam-room, and it was crash-free.

Well I haven't had anything to tell me I need to go there so I'll avoid it like the plague, unless i'm required, and then, even that will depend on how vital the task is.

    Thanks

    Yet another issue

This one is strange..... When I go into the Gammorah Hotel, my HUD display disappears, and I can't move. Nothing happens and I have to Ctr+Alt+Delete out the game. WTF

Restarting the game and going into the Hotel results in the same behavior, stuck, no HUD display, Ctrl+Alt+Delete out the game.

Perhaps I'm getting old, but my patience is running thin with all the bugs in these games. Have I mentioned the "Gas Mask" bug in Metro 2033?

Evidently if you run out of filters, you can't take the mask off.... even if you're in a area that requires no mask! Furthermore, if you have the mask on, it'll take damage....cracks, which in turn hinders vision.

So now you have a cracked gas mask on with no filters available to replace the clogged one which in turn allows you to take off the cracked mask in an area where you don't need a mask in the first place! Brilliant!

Oh.... it gets better.... you progress levels with the broken mask until you find a good one, or a filter..... neither of which I've found since I haven't hit a market yet!!! So far this has lasted 3 levels

No....holding the "G" key does not remove the cracked mask!!! Remapping the key doesn't work either!!! Nice

So now I've come back to New Vegas.... only to be rudely reminded about its bugs

Good grief. Man I need a break so I don't break something

Not meaning to offend anyone and this is just my opinion of this game.

It's by far the most buggy and poorly written and poorly coded game of all time. I also found it extremely boring and repetitive. I made it all the way to the end and I was left asking the question,...what was the point to all of this?

Sorry but I'll take a regular old FPS game anyday over this fiasco. And people said that Crysis was poorly coded LOL.

THE WHOLE GAME IS A BUGFEST!!! i was wondering when the outrage was gonna beggin. its seems everyone is just shruggin it off.
So.... we should all complain all day long about a few minor problems??? Yes, we know there are problems, we listed them. Now what??? Complain all day and all night long?

Outside of the microstutterig, which IS annoying, I personally don't think the game is as bad as you make it out to be. Perhaps that's why "everyone is just shruggin it off" ???

BTW.... Have you filed a complaint with Bethesda, filed a bug report???

    My two cents
I now have to concede that this IS a poorly coded very buggy game. Worst then.... dare I say.....STALKER

The two issues Casino issues I have.....

1- Every time I enter the bath house at the Ultraluxe casino the game hard locks.

2- Entering the Gomorrah casino, I get no cut scene about giving up my weapons happens, my HUD display disappears, and I can’t move.

both of which requires a Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out of is preventing me from completing side quests and has taken all the joy and fun out of the game so i've decided to shelve the game and move on the something else.

I did file a bug report over at Bethesda's forums (Hard lock at Gomorrah & Luxe Hotels - Bethesda Softworks Forums) and will call tech support when I finish this post, though I have no illusions of a solution coming from them.

    Later.

i must be really lucky. i always seem to be defending the game, but i'm only telling it like i see it. i have no connections to bethesda software :)

fortunately i have no problems entering the casinos or bathhouse.

the only buggy quest i've had is 'ant misbehavin' - it tells me to go and meet rachel and tell her the ants are dead (or something).

however, rachel (i think her name is) doesn't want to know.

i did some searching and found out that this only happens if you do a certain other quest in between (volare).

initially i thought i had several other buggy quests (eg ed-e, great khans, robodog and sexbot), but as soon as i talk to the right people or go to the right place, then the quests come back to life and all is well.

yes there certainly are bugs, i can't deny that - but after 90 hours of gameplay, i think i've only had two or three ctd's - and i'm using mods.

i suppose you've tried verifying integrity of your game files in steam?

maybe a reinstall would help? backup saved games first!

    sorry if i'm being obvious.

Hey Guys. Check this site out. Im sure a lot of FO players know of it. There is tons of awesome mods, one I'd like to point out in particular is "Better Game Performance". What it does is negate all of the unused textures and items from he game when loading. Works fairly well imo.

    K thought I'd share that

Heh, I tried that one. Didn't seem to do any better for me with it, so I disabled it.
