Play veteran, it will take more than 4 hours. On the other hand, I've been playing the campaign for a short while and it's not as demanding as I would like. On the OTHER other hand, I must say it is fun. Definitely worth 20-30 bucks if you can get it for that.

Well, they totally screwed up bringing servers online for the PC side. There are LOTS of people that got emails that their server was "online", they went in and named it but they couldn't find it in the server list, ours included. Finally around 11 last night I was able to connect to the remote console but still couldn't find it in the list.

Otherwise, I'm still getting used to the maps (FOURTEEN OF THEM!) so I'm not doing well right now. I was in a couple games with people who REALLY have no life, someone was a level 40 already and was destroying everyone.

See if there is a demo to try before you decide on buying.

Yeah, for the single player mode....it's probably too much.

However, i typically spend a few hundred hours online playing multiplayer and experience kids with much faster reflexes destroying me time and time again. But for some reason, it's actually enjoyable for awhile.

you will be waiting awhile no demo or public beta for this game

I'm taking a wait and see approach and see how the game settles out for a awhile first or wait for a good sale till I get Black Ops

Eh, I will wait until everyone has it for a month and then ask if it is really that good, before I buy. :)
The only problem i have found with that approach is if you like to play the game online...that just gives everybody a 1 month head start at learning the maps and all of the tricks and such...and then when I show up...I'm decimated.
Granted, however this just makes me work harder at learning the game/maps and I improve my skills much faster because I am playing against good opponents. Maybe I just like the challenge

More reason to wait until all the dust settles (so to speak). Servers will be full, lag times will be high, and lots of frustration trying to play your new game. :)

I was thinking more about MoH but, after watching my friend play Black Ops on Medium, I doubt that Veteran will change that much... Rambo would have died first before my friend did. I mean, he was surrounded by enemy, they were shooting at him from no more than 10 feet and, miraculously, he was slicing and dicing all of them... almost cherry picking them apart!

Ahhh, I thought you said you only cared about the Campaign (like I do), hence, why I said that.

That is another clue for me to think that the game is a bargain bin game.

BTW, I saw him using some special optics (Red Dot Sight) on what looked like the first MP5 that I thought were not available in 1963

the game ships with multi-core CPU support turned off for some reason, as if a modern PC gamer doesn’t have a multi-core CPU at the heart of his or her rig. And yet at the same time, the game ships with multi-GPU support turned on. Everybody has a multi-core CPU, but finding someone with a multi-GPU setup is somewhat rarer.

This revelation isn't as shocking as it should be. I wasn't holding my breath anticipating this CoD would be any different from the last CoD: a poorly optimized pos console port. In fact, I can't think of an fps that's come out recently that isn't a poorly optimized pos console port.

Well, I gotta say, that is pretty stupid of them to do. Did they say how to turn that ON or they left it out as well?

Now, while I agree with you on the poorly/unoptimized/ crappy console ports, I gotta say that MW2 is the best I have seen yet... compare to the others ones of course. I am talking about ports people not gameplay.
