    no problems with steam
only problem is i cant install games that are using steam
I must say, that I have about 10 games purchased at steam, and NONE of them starts through the steam software, all of my games had to be manually started and some have even required that I deleted some directories and stuff like that to work.

I don't know yet if its' because it's incompatible with x64 or something other is wrong.

I doubt it has anything to do with the 64bit OS.

I have about 40 games on Steam and have never had any issues at all installing or playing them under Win7 x64.

    There may be another issue.

You are running the current drivers for your GPu correct?
Also, Have you updated Direct X?

Have you done any "tweaks" to Windows?

It's not a compatibility issue. It's something with your machine sorry to say. Steam is very compatible with Windows 7 x64.

Everything here is up to date.
However, the system has been online for a long time, i can test by creating a new installation and try to have the steam tested on that one..

Is this a legit copy of Windows 7?

If you have a disk, with the problems you've been having, you might consider a repair install.... Repair Install
