    Gothic 3 load issue!!!

    I am running win7 beta x64 b.7000

My system resources are not the problem.

After I have installed Gothic3 and the directx update sdk that comes with it. I run the game with admin on, but the game doesnt even execute, I tried all the settings in the compatability menu. Still nothing has worked, it just gives me a program crash scan and send info dialog. So if any one knows of this issue, please let me know your thoughs or sollutions to this problem.

Note, it is a legit hard copy of the game. I think it does not like x64!

That may be. I had it running on x86 without a problem. post the crash report, maybe one of the 'techies' can figure a solution.

upgrading from 7000 would also be a good thing. try one our may flavors of leaked builds, there's a new x64 build posted in General Discussion. 7232, i believe. hope it helps, good luck!

download the latest patch from their offical website, make sure you get the community patch which is the newest one.

gothic 3 is a very buggy game, even patched. im running 7077 and it runs fine for me, 64 bit version as well.

i don't recall having to do anything special with it

Ya, i checked, it is a driver verify thing, but patch 1.5.2 fixes it so anything after that will have it pre set anyway, lol.

Well, thanks for your help, I love to fix stupid issues and understand why. Only if C++ was just a bit more fun, LOL!!!

Also I hope this helps anyone out there some day, YAY!!!

i know for me it takes a bit for it to smooth out. and you'll run into certain area's that lag a bit more.

i havn't played it for a while but im pretty sure i got everything maxed out and its very playable except for a few slowdowns in a few spots

    im running I7 920 with 6gb of corsair and a 4890 ati....but i remember playing this game on a 6800 GT and a amd 3000+ which was like a 2.1ghz or something

oh i know what you should try first, you need to go download the vista direct x driver(rename your current one so you can easily swap it back) the file is called dxdiagn.dll

that file causes alot of problems with older games on windows 7, if your running the 64bit version this file will be located in syswow or w/e its called

oh and you might have to try a few different versions of that dxdiagn.dll file, otherwise i could email you the one im using. i just know that one of the ones i downloaded did not work. if your wondering where i found this out, it was regarding NWN2, which wouldn't load at all because of this file, so maybe just maybe it will help with your lagging

this may or may not fix your problem let me know

yes its one of the reasons i won't be supporting microsoft anymore, you also can now only use digitally verified drivers that companys have to pay microsoft for.

anyways, you have to right click on the file, then go to security, and then just try to allow everything in there and maybe just maybe, if your lucky you'll get it to let you lol

most of the time i can get my files unlocked like that but sometimes i can't, just keep allowing things lol....but yah windows xp FTW, dx11 and 64bit really arn't all that special anyways.....lol

oh and sometimes you have to do that security thing on the actual folder the file is in lol.....
