Hey guys I just wanted to give you all a heads up on the status of my purchase.

I will be getting one from Amazon as I traded some old text books into them ($120 worth) and encountered some additional expenses in another department of my fascinating life.

I'm still getting the HIS card: Amazon.com: HIS Radeon HD 5770 1 GB GDDR5 Eyefinity DisplayPort HDMI 2x DL-DVI (HDCP) PCI Express 2.1 X16 Video Card Retail (RoHS) H577FK1GD: Electronics

I figure at $129 (costing me all of $15 after tax plus a -$20 rebate, life will be great AND i'll have a few buck left over IF the rebate process actually works).

Hey I was reading this. I like this card. I am maybe going to be a copy cat. Will this card work with my computer. I have tried to figure out as much as I can about it. But not absolutely sure. I know I would have to upgrade my PSU first. But will it fit if I did decide to get it?

    The HIS 5770 I'm getting is 8.3 inches long. This is compared to a 5870 ( a true "long-board" card) at 11in.

I've found that if the card is under 9.26 inches in length (the width of an ATX board from I/O panel to front of case) it'll fit in a mid-tower.

My case is the Antec 200 and it has a smidgen more room than the HP Pavilion cases do so make sure to measure. Your HP has a uATX (micro ATX) like mine. I don't think it'll be a problem for you.

And yes, the PSU will /faceroll for sure. I'm packing 650W right now and I'm towards the bottom end. If i get any more hard drives or RAM, I'm getting a bigger supply (at least 700w). Use a PSU Calculator like the one below to calculate your needs. Take that # and multiply it by 1.2 and there's a good PSU to look at (or the next wattage up).

The HIS 5770 requires only 1 six-pin connector and is dual width. If you have a PCI card in the slot immediately below your PCI-E slot, I suggest moving it down if you can to help circulate the air around the card better.

    Good Luck!

PS: I should be getting the card on or around the 28th so I'll report in when the card arrives (going to try and 2-day or overnight it as I'm hella anxious)

    (I might even take photos!)

You MUST mean the 5770. 5870s start at like $220+! Unless it was on sale like mad.

    I'll keep y'all updated.

    And here's an update!

UPDATE: I've decided to go with the HIS 6850 instead of the 5770. I came across a smidgen more of money this holiday season :P I'll have to live with 3-5 day shipping but from Amazon it's $179 and I can live with that.

This is actually what I am going to be looking to get. I like it plus the price seems to be very good for the product. I wouldn't mind hearing anything anyone has to say about this including you. So if you did manage to look at this one. What do you think about it? Another thing. When I click on Some High quality videos they do not load very good. If at all. They do not even work I should say. I was using them a week or 2 ago and they were working just fine. I do not know why they just stopped working. Well What it is is they are not loading fast at all. So they do not work at all. I mean those DIVx videos will not even finish buffering to play more than 1 or 2 seconds of video. When before they were loading as soon as I hit play and working fine. Would a video card make a difference in this? Or is it all my internet. Just seems funny that all of the sudden they stopped working. I did turn my graphic quality up. But I also tried it all the way down no difference.

Sounds more like your Internet, to me If they won't load up more than a couple seconds.

One thing also to keep in mind is with the Pavillion not only the lenght but the placement of the card sometimes you need a low profile card in order for it to work, and for sure a single slot card.

    Possibly like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-501-_-Product

Is there anything like that that is not as much. I pretty much just want to get my Graphics card up to a 6.0 if possible when I run my WEI. I also want to be able to run any games. Instead of buying an X-Box. I want to just use my computer. SO would it work okay. If I was to get this card maybe?

    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-R567OC-1GI Rev2.0 Radeon HD 5670 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

I was also looking at this one.

    Amazon.com: XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card HD577AZNFC: Electronics

But also I have read that my Pavilion p6654y has pretty good amount of room to work with. But I would like more info on if this would fit or not. Because it is a pretty good sized card. Please let me know if you think this would fit. Just look up a review of the p6654y it tells a lot about being able to upgrade it. I do know that before anything else. I will need to get a new PSU. But please the more input the better. Also I still want my card to have a VGA input on it. Unless it does not really matter. Because my computer has a built in video with VGA.
Also if I were to get a PSU with the exact amount of power the card says it needs. Will that run my whole computer just fine. Or will that just be enough for the card only?

Thanks all for everything. You guys are a really big help. Do not think I forget about rep when I am helped and my problem is completely solved.
