Go to the manufacturers website, there should be a support section. (If there's a forum, have a peek) They should make available all the drivers you'll really need. For now try this, but keep that in mind, you should be well aware of this when you purchase a computer.

This sounds like a bug I had with a new OEM rig a few years ago, the problem was certainly different but similar symptoms so..

When you installed the new drivers for your card, did you use driversweeper? The system/Nvidia's installer/unistaller can leave files behind, what I would call dirty files. You want to be rid of all of these. Uninstall the video card from device manager>System Properties>Device manager
Don't reboot on the prompt, now run driversweeper. Reboot, run the installer for the new drivers, reboot.

Driver sweeper> Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com
    Driver> NVIDIA DRIVERS 197.16 WHQL

Once you've done this, which should take just 5m, reply if anything's changed. I'd prefer to sort this out before anything else.

Also if you can, post a dxdiag when you're done.

Click start, in search type dxdaig When the window opens, give it a full minute, you'll likely see a progress bar, it's refreshing your system information and verifying drivers. Export the log to text, you'll see the option, then host it somewhere and post a link here.

Obviously if the problem is fixed after the driver is done, no need for a dxdiag, otherwise I'd post that before we could really do much.
