    Steam = junk?

    Hello there.

    Today I have been VAC banned from MW2 on Steam due to Hacks, cheats whatever you want to call them just the one thing is I have never used hacks or cheats on a game and with 56 games do you really think I would risk it?

    This is stupid and I will be taking legal action against them if it is not removed.

    Anyone else been having problems with Steam?

    You let steam off in here mate then coolly, calmly and collectedly you raise your concern with them. I do use steam but very rarely multi player because of the very thing which has you banned, cheats, can't stand em.

    Just how hollow must victory feel?

    Unless I take legal action against them I know they wont remove it as they just want me to spend more.

    One of my friends was banned (MW2) for same reason and I know for a fact he has never used them. He could have quite possibly have been one of the worst players I have ever seen which is probably why he just uninstalled and vowed to never play again.

    I would think they we have to have proof before banning but it looks like that is not the case.

    there was previously an issue with VAC where it banned thousands of innocent people on MW2 due to a glitch in the system. If I remember correctly, they were rewarded with a free copy of L4D2 while it was still $39.99.

    Lolling. Users don't get VAC banned for nothing. Most of the times their account gets compromised, the 'hacker' gets a retarded hack off google, uses it, gets the account VAC banned and lolz at your misfortune. There were 3 cases that I know of when users got VAC banned by accident, but they were ALWAYS in large numbers and ALWAYS Steam techs figured it out and fixed it.

    Send them an email about your case.

    They will look into it and act accordingly, if you have been wrongly VAC banned it's likely they will find it, solve the problem and then compensate you some how.

    If you were banned for violating the EULA, well that's your own fault, and you can't take legal action because you broke the rules and you are not to entitled to the services provided by Steam.

    Issue sorted, as I said I have never hacked. I contacted steam a few days ago about a minute ago they replied saying the VAC ban was placed on my account incorrectly. They lifted the ban and compensated by a game of my choice (Portal 2)
