vsync should limit you to your monitor's refresh rate, normally 60hz.

I never said they would work

Il try them out today and see if i can get one working for you.

EDIT: i cant get them to work they seem pretty rubbish and just crash the game or windows.

There are other types of software that can limit your fps like "FPS_limiter_0.2" but that only works with dx9 games. There is also "SSAA Tool" but it requires driver signing to be switched off.

I cant seem to find a good one sorry

You can get it here - .: ToMMTi-Systems :: Hinter den Kulissen moderner 3D-Hardware :.

Its the second one down on that page. I suggest you look at the read me file if you download it. Each game you want to change must be added to the "games.txt" file and you can configure what it does in the "config.txt" file.

It allows you to change the following options:

SETTING FORCE SSAA=2.0 - Enables a new video mode in dx10-dx11 based games, which has 2x times the width and height of you max. phys. screen resolution.

SETTING TRIPPLE BUFFER - Forces tripple buffer rendering for dx8-dx11 based games.

SETTING VSYNC - Forces vsync rendering for dx8-dx11 based games.

SETTING LIMIT FPS - Forces a hard FPS limit in dx8-dx11 based game.

SETTING FORCEWARP - Forces fast software rendering via the warp renderer(dx10).

SETTING FORCEREF - Forces very slow software rendering via the reference rasterizer(dx8-dx11)

EDIT: iv found something better its called DXTORY

In the advanced tab you can limit the frames per second to what you want. Iv only tested it with batman:arkham asylums benchmark and before i got a minimum of 36, a maximum of 60 and an average of 54 fps.

I set a limit of 45 and now get a minimum of 23, a maximum of 45 and an average of 43 fps.

So it does work, kind off lol.

Limiting the framerate is not what you want...
The effect you are seeing in Dead Space is not a reduction of framerate.
It is more akin to slow motion without reducing framerate.

As I said before...

Yup i know that's what he wants but i couldn't find any good apps for doing that (all the apps i found were rubbish), so i suggested a frame limiter so the drops in framrate wouldn't be so noticeable.

If anyone knows of any slow motion apps let us know, as im now interested in this too since AlexRD brought up this thread.

Any finds? I just found out this feature could work in another way to help smooth the frames. I saw it in homefront, FPS Smoothing. It reduces fast frames, or something like that. It ends up a lot smoother :P
