    Hey Everyone,
I just finished my gaming rig last week been a bit tight on money but looking for a new CPU cooler along with a good graphics card could you guys possibly help ?

Ive been looking at various CPU coolers like the coolermaster V8 and the Corsair H50
The cooler is going to be for a AMD Phenom II X4 but i really dont want a cooler that is gunna be a pain in the arse to install...... Could anyone tell me any good but easy to install coolers ?

    Graphics Card
Ive been looking at these to graphics card

    Point Of View GTX465 1025MB DDR5 Dual DVI Mini HDMI.. | Ebuyer.com
    EVGA GTX470 1280MB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI Out PCI-E.. | Ebuyer.com

What do you guys think of these two which one should i go for i heard theGTX 470 is obviously better but is there a massive difference between a 465 and 470 ?
or maybe could you post a link to a more effeicient for its price

Thankyou for taking your time to read this
    Many Thanks

Hi, the GTX465 is worse than most GTX460's, so if i was you i wouldn't bother looking at the 465's.

You can pick up a GTX560, which is better than all the cards mentioned for under £200 if you look around - GTX560

And there are plenty of reviews for it you should check out - REVIEW

    Hello there.

If you're looking for Air Cooling solution, i'd suggest a Noctua NH-D14 or a Corsair A70

    Newegg.com - Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler

    Newegg.com - CORSAIR CAFA70 120mm Dual-Fan CPU Cooler

If you're looking for Liquid Cooling, i'd suggest a Corsair H70 or CoolIt ECO R120

Newegg.com - CoolIT SYSTEMS ECO-R120 Advanced Liquid Cooling (ALC)

    Newegg.com - CORSAIR Hydro H70 CWCH70 120mm High Performance CPU Cooler

About the video cards, the GTX 470 is better than the 465.

I could suggest an AMD solution, but if you're not into AMD. although i see that your rig is AMD.

I'm not entirely sure but i believe i read here on the forums something about Fermi cards not performing at its maximum power with AMD processors (I don't remember where i read this but it was here on the forums, i don't know if it's true )

For the price of the GTX 470 you could buy a HD 6950, unlock it into a HD 6970 with the BIOS mod here (AMD Radeon HD 6950 to HD 6970 Mod | techPowerUp) and have the fastest AMD card on the market right now (Single GPU).

    Here's some GTX 470:

    Newegg.com - EVGA 012-P3-1470-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Newegg.com - MSI N470GTX Twin Frozr II GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

    And here's some HD 6950:

    Newegg.com - HIS H695F2G2M Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-R695D5-2GD-B Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

    Hope my info helps

    Cheers.

    Thank you.

Well. about the GTX 470, here's a comparison chart with the GTX 560 Ti (being the 560 better)

GeForce GTX 470 vs GeForce GTX 560 Ti – Performance Comparison Benchmarks @ Hardware Compare

    Here's a GTX 560 Ti:

    Newegg.com - Palit NE5X56T01102-1140F GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Same price as the GTX 470!

    Looks great again bud !
i think ill go for a 560 now i see the price is round about the same but your getting more ? i wanna be playing battlefield bad company 2 maxed out with black ops and dirt 2

Gunna be awesome cant wait !!

Basically yes. but it's much more than that.

You have less power consumption, ergo, less heat.

55% more texel rate, 8% more pixel rate, you do have less memory (1024MB vs 1280MB) but you have higher clocks which helps too

I'd go with the GTX 560 Ti.

While the Corsair H50 and H70 ($110) are great, they might be a bit too pricey. The CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ can be had for about $30 and works really good.

For me, I find the Corsair H70 a bit too noisy for my ears. So, since I am not a major overclocker, I don't require extreme cooling.
