Windows 7: Another Fallout3 freezing problem thread

04 Mar 2011   #11

Any way bud. If or when you do get it working as best as it can- Post back and let us know how you fixed it so maybe the next guy behind you with probs might be able to fix his game faster.

I know I hate searching the net for help, and find a thread same hardware same exact probs, Folks never post back and say they fixed it or how. Or might post back say thanks it is fixed, but not say how they did it. Did not help me at all, pisses me off ha ha. Gees I am already upset my stuff is not working right etc., think maybe I got lucky then folks never post how they fixed it..

Thanks- See ya..

dont know if it will work for you, but its a common problem with somthing to do with water.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

It's working great (thanks to ezeht!). I followed these instructions and it cured my Windows7/Fallout 3 snafu. Thanks again. Here's what instructions of ezeht's I used to cure the problem:
Is your i3 dual core. You may have to do this.

Open up the .ini file located in My Documents>My Games>Fallout 3. *Do not alter the one in the actual game directory in Program files labeled Fallout_Default_ini*.

This file is where the save games etc are at. You might have to turn on show hidden folders or extensions, but it is 1 of the files as soon as you open my games- fallout 3.

Look In the FALLOUT.ini find the line

change the 0 to a 1

then below it add the line
