It missed the gritty feel of the original game, but I didn't really enjoy it any less. The repeating dungeons get old by the time you're on the second campaign. Through, that's about it though.

Yeah that was a ridiculously lazy and cheap move by the game designer. I'm sure (hope) they were pressed for time to get the game out. Nonetheless as I said, it's a cheap lazy way to map a game, and very annoying and boring to anyone who has to play the maps over and over and over, and over.... again

The choice was either made to deal with time limitations, or to prevent an enormous filesize for the game. Either way they could have at least splattered different textures on the walls to make it seem different.

Interesting review here - Choose Language | BioWare Social Network

I honestly can't say I disagree with his points, even though I finished the game an enjoyed it.
Interesting Review indeed. I wasn't even gonna finish the game when i played as a warrior. I gave the game a 2nd chance as a mage, and it certainly grew on me. It just got too freaking repetitive, but i managed to push through. I agree, Act II was the best. Then again i do have a deep distaste for Qunari, so who knows.

So apparently, the sales of DA2 are so good (1 million overall against "only" 3 million on PCs only) that Bioware started offering Mass Effect 2 when purchasing DA2. Lovely. The best of it all is that they advertised this "special offer" to PC users using reviews for xbox and PS3

I agree... it reminds like if i am playing some racing game using the same race track backwards or mirrored.

Yeah, I just can't figure out if it was a lazy modeling/design department, or if they did it to minimize physical install size, or something else tangible for a specific reason. (keeping it to a single install disc or something like that)

Either way in a game this big, with such a significant predecessor it is a noticeable issue.

I'm hopeful this represents them putting a lot of effort into mass effect 3. Which I am really looking forward too, and also has the potential to be either completely epic, or also a slight disappointment.

It's seems like the game was put on a time line and rushed - the length of the game, the recycled maps, garbled story. In addition to that you had the day 1 DLC release (The Exiled Prince). I liked the game, but is was/is a hack job.

I'm hoping this doesn't happen with Mass Effect 2, but DA 2's release doesn't instill confidence.

I read in several places that the game was rushed. A stupid maneuver in order to capitalize on the success of DA:O. Hell, Awakening seemed longer and had richer content. The extra specialization's, weapons, armor set's, characters, and quests were really something. Lets hope they don't pander to lowest common denominator (the average gamer) with ME3.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that EA wanted to grab some more cash from the fame of DA:O, I assumed that the day they started releasing gameplay trailers and official release dates later.

It would be sad not to see ME3 at all, but from my point of view, Bioware really screwed up big time, but hopefully not too much and can recover, unlike Infinity Ward :'(
