He certainly is a character that leaves a lot of speculation about. He almost seems like a tranquil in some ways.
I suppose we're just supposed to think he blasts them all with enchanting runes, but wouldn't that make him magical, which dwarfs are not supposed to be in the DA universe.
He certainly is an interesting character. I'm curious to see how/if they use him in DA 3.
They were amazed to come upon him in the deep roads and see all those dead darkspawn around him, and again in the gallows in act 3.
He certainly is full of mystery.
I do remember Bodahn saying that someone in the circle had called sandal a ''Savant". This was in DA:O, when you talk to him at your camp i believe. I completely forgot the conversation, i didn't pay too much attention. His name is Sandal, how am i supposed to take him seriously?
I actually thought that conversation happened at Hawk's home right after the Deep Roads expedition. But yeah Bodahn definitely used the word Savant.
That would definitely explain a lot as some people with mental disabilities can display extraordinary skills or talents. Yeah I can see him as a servant, how else do you explain him standing in the Deep Roads all by himself with a bunch of dead darkspawn all around him.
There are several conversations about him through the game, you just have to keep going back to them.
There was also that instance in the deep roads with the 'not enchantment'
I just want to bring this up for anybody who missed it: If you purchased/purchase Dragon Age II, if you register by April 30th, you get a 100% free copy of Mass Effect 2 on the EA Downloader. I honestly can't say I disagree with his points, even though I finished the game an enjoyed it.
