Searching around I don't see a whole lot of buzz about on the game, especially for a newly released Crysis

One thing I did find out though.... No DX10 or 11 - MyCrysis and here - Ok - enough! Will Crysis 2 have DX11 on release date - confirm please - - Steam Users' Forums

DX11 will be offered as a future patch, the current release is only DX9

Yeah.... seems to be all the rage now. Dragon Age 2 had the same BS. I had to download a 1gig file to get the texture pack which supported DX11.

I don't understand why these can't be included with the game.... on release day.... not downloaded "later"

That's my point. Anyway looks like I won't get the game till the patch is released. Stupid I know, but....

I would think it safe to assume that the buzz is waiting for some people to finish the game. I'm trying to juggle a dozen things today which is the only reason I haven't been plowing straight through it.

As for dx11, I windowed the game and the window stated it was a dx11 application.

...if that's dx9 they've totally reinvented it. The ground and wall textures are definitely using at least dx10 mapping.

I've traced everything stating it won't have dx11 support to a single website in sweden that released the information over a year ago.
    Maybe something changed?

I don't know what you mean by that but Windows can't turn a DX9 game into a DX11 game.

I don't think that's what you mean but....

I linked two sites in my previous post. Bottom line is as of now the game is DX9

I'm not insinuating that windows is magically making it dx11, I'm just stating what I saw. CE3 remains a dx11 engine regardless of the current support on it though.

I have a bud on a mid range system and a nv 560ti @ hard core gfx settings he says it runs smooth- better than the other crysis games.

I will get it some day.

It does seem significantly more refined than the previous, if what everyone is saying is true and this is only dx 9, the shaders have really been cleaned up.

Well hell- if it is only dx9 I guess it is running good- I bet my bud does not even know that- so the second or 3rd post here- guy talking about how it runs and tessellation etc. How can he talk about such things if it is not even in the game- that is dx11- Or am I missing something. Are we talking retail or steam USA the World or all or what?

I am about sick of stupid game crap or bug crap or this game already and do not even have it. It should have or play in dx11 If not it is stupid and should not be out yet- I thought the game was made for or with dx11.

Never mind- I do not care now and will never buy it- the confusion is enough for me.. Id bet money being a port has to do with everything..

Ha ha I love it.. See ya..

That was me talking about seeing dx11 features in it, and I still hold to that. Even though most everyone seems to disagree. I know dx9 though played games in it for years. If there is nothing going on in this game but dx9 then they've completely redefined it.
