Isn't there an option (slider bar) inside the game to make the game more or less bright?

100? it seems to me this would mean FULL BRIGHT wouldn't it?

I can only guess then that your card may be holding you back as well... I read this on a review of that card.

The GT 430 is a sub-$100 GPU designed for mainstream media desktop users
Now, there is another thread going around here and there is a download to make the graphics even better than what they are at the moment... perhaps that can help you as well... search for it.

I don't think it has one - I can only find .cfg files

Well, i did figure out that if i set the game to run as a 'windowed' application, rather than 'full-screen', i can get it to use the brightness settings i input to my nVidia configuration tool. Not an optimal fix, but a decent work-around.

this is system.cfg for LOW settings (ajust as you want):-

    ; crysis2

copy and paste it and save as system.cfg
file type all files (i'm sure you know this)

    make a new desktop shortcut
right click and add this to target otherwise nothing will change:- +exec system.cfg

    eg:-"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\bin32\Crysis2.exe" +exec system.cfg
