I'm having the same issue with any semi-demanding games in Windows 7 X86... A short time period into the game, it will crash to the desktop. SupCom, Neverwinternights 2, Crysis. I been reading alot about issues with the virtual memory ceiling. In 32bit OS's, the ceiling is 2 gig, 64 bit at 4 gig, regardless of the paging file size. The virtual memory is split between the OS and video, and once it is close to, or is taken up, the crash occurs. Typically, it's just the game that fails to respond and the OS is still operational. My paging file size is set to 8146 meg, and when my crash occurs, the memory meter shows that 96% (O_O) of my memory is used! That means, in theory, nearly 16 gig (between paging file and physical memory) has been consumed!? No way... especial not with SupCom. Also read about making modifications to the boot.ini file, to manually adjust the virtual memory size but I wouldn't suggest it unless you know what your doing. Any input to this matter would be most helpful, especially when it's considered that the machines listed in this particular forum should have no issues running these games.
