    Whats Holding Me Back?

Okay so I've had my system for a while. But I havn't really tried any serious gaming. So I go to try to play something like borderlands and the framerates kinda suck. So I was wondering whats causing this lagg and what I can do to fix it.

    Specs:

Intel Pentitum Dual Core 2.7GHz E5400
    4GB DDR2 667MHZ
    320 HDD 5400rpm
    EVGA Geforce 9500 1024MB DDR2
    550 Core Clock
    1000 Memory Clock
    1400 Shader Clock.

    Thanks.

The most important thing for gamers is the graphics card and yours is starting to show its age with today's games. If you are looking to do any upgrades I would start with that. Just make sure you get something compatible with your motherboard.

    Reviews on the E5400

If your looking to upgrade from a single core to something a little better and you are on a budget, this is the chip for you. Not for hardcore computing but makes everyday tasks a lot faster.

Picked this up as a bundle deal with the Biostar G31 for a budget build.

Since this is a budget CPU and could fit well for budget setups, have you tried how far it clocks at 1.35~1.4v on air since budget users would most likely use aircooling.

    Now, onto your Video Card...

it's pretty cool and quiet. great for watching videos and doing office work.

You cant not max your fps ratings any. In game with card fully maxed and over clocked you will bearly hit 50 frames per second.

Not the best little gamer but far from the worst.
Now, depending on how good or bad the game is on system requirements, there is your answer. Have you tried updating your drivers? Do all the games act this way?
