yeah, Ghost Recon / Rainbow Six it definitely isn't - which is a pity. I'd love me a new Rainbow Six :)
Sadly, we won't be seeing it any time soon... I mean, just look what they blatantly did to the Far Cry franchise, GRAW & Vegas... they screwed the Franchise like NBC screwed Conan.

FPS's are one of my favorite genres. Except ever since Wolfenstein 3D, they are all the same. Forget the pretty graphics. You now have the same MP44, the same M4, the same old .45 and gameplay that lasts for barely 5 hrs. So I won't be queuing up to buy it. Sure CoD is a shooter done very well but its nothing special. Even worse it will be another weak console port. Its time for a thinking (GASP!) shooter that isn't linear . . . but with lots of shooting. Think Mass Effect.
As long as we have console kiddies buying everything on the shelfs, w/o disregard of prices or whether is a good or bad game... they will keep churning these type of games every year or so. Some will do a better job (Infinity Ward) with the CoD series, some will just make something and use the Franchise History to bank on it (Ubisoft).

Battle 3 is going to shit all over this crappy game!
Well, I hope you are right but, at the same time... I hope you are wrong so we can have 2 great games instead of just 1
