    The Witcher Installation Issues

When I try to install the Enhanced Edition Witcher, I get the error

    CSIDL_COMMON_DOCUMENTS

Failed (some error code) unspecified error.

Using prior knowledge, I knew that the issued lied in the Public Documents folder which I deleted along with the entire Public folder.. After searching around, I found that I was correct. I found two solutions.

    1. Creating a new folder named "Public\Public Documents"

    2. Use the provided registry keys from this thread Public Folders - Restore

Neither worked. The registry keys didn't even create the folders.

Help! I really want to play The Witcher.

Might have to do a repair install....Why did you delete those folders anyway?

That was what I feared. I didn't delete it. I just found that it was missing when I checked. I didn't even bother messing with it until today... if you were to send me a copy of your Public Documents folder, would that suffice.

That puppy is 81.9 mb in size...and I don't have much in it either....It would be easier to rebuild....open C drive....Users/Public/....in public are nine folders....Favorites, Libraries, Public Desktop, Public Documents/microsoft/IdentityCRL/production, Public Downloads, Public Video/Sample Video, Public Music/Sample Music, Public Pictures/Sample Pictures, Public Recorded TV/.....in this are two folders.....Sample Media, TempRec,

Comma's mean a different folder in the root folder....../ means it goes inside the previous folder

thanks bro, for the quick reply and help, i think recreating the microsoft folders in Public Documents did the job. before, when I recreated the public documents folder, it didn't solve anything but after recreating all of them it works.
