I had the same trouble at first and restarting my computer did the trick! also did the game give you the d3dcompiler_43.dll is missing error? if so that might have something to do with needing to install direct X from MS

choose windows choose win 7 32 bit
choose audio.
Now the tricky part you'll need to look at the audio device in your device manager to get the number you need to pick the right download in the last drop down

control panel - system - device manager
is the way to get there if you didn't know.

I went under sound, video and gamer controllers in the device manager and this was the only thing there:

ugh, trial and error then it's one of the three. If it's the wrong one it will just not install it shouldn't harm anything.
Just don't do anything to force it to use a driver if it doesn't want too.

Well, that didn't work, it said it installed successfully and everything... but the sound still didn't work.

I feel like this has been just a waste of money now.
