    Counter strike 1.6 issue


    Hi I have a problem with cs 1.6. When I move around there is this transparent bar that rolls up and down my screen, its horizontal and takes up the whole screen width. It pretty thin and sometimes unnoticable, but when it rolls down near the middle it gets really annoying.

    Someone in game said that my graphics card might be broken, but its brand new and runs like a charm for everything else. Its a 5000 series ATI, can't remember it's name exactly. Everything else about my computer and the game are fine.

    It does sound like a graphics card related problem.
    The card can function and still have problems. They can also arrive new with damage. ...it happens.

    You've probably already done this but go ahead and reinstall the latest video driver for you card. linke below.

    (just knowing it's a 5 series should be enough to get through that)

    I'm thinking it's possible you are using the driver that came with the new card. That's very often a bad idea. Always download directly.

Well, i have bought a new machine, and have some problems with counter-strike 1.6 My hardware: Sager N5125, Core i7 620M, 4GB DDR3, Intel GMA + nVidia GeForce GT 330 M, 500GB Seagate. Logs: I can play if i wait, just one map... but, if server changemap or i reconnect the game stop working...
It loads up to the starting screen but all I see is the 2 guys in masks and no buttons. When I move the mouse to left side I can hear the click that I'm on a button but can't get past there. The windows task bar for some reason is displayed at bottom but can't click anything on it.
So, CS:S has been crashing on my lately as the title says. I can't pinpoint why. Basically what happens is at some point during the game (whether on startup, title screen, or in game) the game will crash and my monitor will shutoff or go into power save mode. I'm not sure it's a Windows 7 issue...
