Low Cost Game Controller

Hi All,

I play games in DOSBox 0.74, MAME64, and the occasional Windows 7 PC game, and I was looking for a recommendation on low cost game controllers (joystick or integrated controller).

Any suggestions from the hard core gamers here?

How "low cost" do you mean? A wired Windows 7 360 controller is only around 18-20 and that's a very good controller to use on PC. I've used it with PC games and emulators.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Gamestation sell second hand wired 360 controllers for 10, quite good value really and well worth investing.

i really would go with a wired xbox 360 controller, as GFW are becoming more and more common you can't go wrong with one... especially as most pc games have functionality with 360 controllers out of box. the ones with GFW tag(games for windows) are a given to have it standard.

yeah the xbox controller has always been a favourite, I still have in the shed somewhere an original xbox controller thats been chopped up and soldered onto a USB-A jack. This was fun before the 360 came out with USB standard. there were (and still are) hacked drivers available for that in XP, you could run those drivers in test mode on windows 7 but i'm just reminissing.... 360 controller for the win!

game controller on console vs game controller on pc
I'm thinking of getting a console to have a better gaming experience. I suck at gaming but like to play regardless. I struggled with GTA4 but stuck with it. The problem is I can't drive with a kb/m and can't shoot with a controller (xbox 360) so I use both. My understanding is this is not a...

I bought a Steelseries 69000 1G Game Contoller (cheapie) and when I loaded Black Ops it doesn't see the controller. The controller is in the device tree and has a MS driver loaded. The controller settings in Black Ops is "greyed out". Is another driver an option. This post possibly belongs in the...

I build my own joystick, rudder pedals, and throttle controllers. How come at every boot the center points and end points shift around a little? I use DXTweak 2, to set the points and they will not stay consistant. TY
