Dedicated Servers Confirmed in Modern Warfare 3

It seems like PC gamers have put enough pressure on Infinity Ward. Either that, or Infinity Ward just wants to get money from PC gamers that they didn't get two years ago due to frustration over the lack of dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2. Whatever the case is, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have officially confirmed the support of dedicated servers in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Bad news for Infinity ward then cos no PC gamer worth his salt will go play MW3 when BF3 is incoming..I'm not going to buy it for one.
Let the console kiddies have it and its dinky little maps/32 player bullshit.

As an individual who never gets into FPS MPs, I have to say that this might just be the light at the end of the tunnel for Infinity Ward, or what's left of them since MW2.

I mean, come on, they brought us COD2, which I still enjoy playing in SP and LAN. Not having any interest in MP, I felt kinda sad hearing that Infinity Ward was struck down because of the lack of dedicated servers in MW2, so I just hope that these guys, who stuck around Activision's bullshit and the grinding butchery of both gamers and reviewers, will up the storyline and SP in MW3. Because this is their last chance, and they cannot waste it.

You talk like consoles are a bad thing, not cool man, not everyone has a PC that can run today's games with 70FPS on all high settings.
I for one welcome dedicated servers, no more host migrations mid-match which sometimes ends-up ending the game when the migration fails.

There's nothing wrong with owning a console, but come on, seriously? How many people you know that are serious gamers and NOT console fanboys? Not being able to own a high-en PC gaming rig is one thing...

---> TEH CONSOLZZZ PWNSZORX TEH PC GRAPHICS ALWAYZZZ <---

is another thing... considering they CAN even spell their slang properly. There's a big difference here.
Still, I agree with ya; simmo has no idea what he's talking about, even though he does have a point that BF3 is a much more expected game among PC gamers than MW3.

I love COD. For me, it is right on the same level of fanboyism as the MOH franchise, but the first reaction to hearing the words "Modern Warfare 3" was a chuckle and an eye-roll.

I play my console more often than I play games on my PC, the only reason is that:
    1) I don't have money to get the PC version.
    2) and there is a higher chance of lag.

But PC graphics put consoles to shame though, console graphics are downgraded while PC graphics are adjustable and have the option to look way more better than their console counterparts.

umm console games here in OZ cost MORE than a PC game does

and lag? what lag would that be?

and just as a sidenote I had a PS2 for quite some time til I went to PC's. Would never get another.

And consoles hold PC gaming back..other than BF3 I can't think of another game released lately that isn't a console port...crap controls, DX9, no tweakability etc etc.

anyways this is getting away from the thread. and I stand by what I said
