Ok - I'm still using the Win7 RC ver and there was early posts about issues with installing software pior some patch\update. The issue I had was where the Anti-Virus software had not installed correctly (installed prior the Win7 patch\update) and was blocking Crysis from installing (strange as the AV was running\updating and other games had installed ok...).

    So....
    • Ensure there are no traces of the game on your c:\
    • Disconnect you pc from its internet connection.
    • Uninstall your Anti-Virus and reboot.
    • Try installing Crysis again.
    • If all ok, re-install your AV software and update it (ethernet cable back in now of course).

And you can just try it to install it using Windows Vista or Windows XP compatibility mode, which some times can help.

How I got it to work

I was getting the black screen hang at start up too. I just found the Crysis.exe file in the Bin64 folder and changed it to Vista (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode. Works like a charm.
