gonna get it on PC this time around
Don't. Just... Don't. Ubisoft's DRM and re-allocated controls make the game clearly more console-oriented. You won't gain much better experience on the PC. Save your money for other good games coming this year

Oh, and BTW, you may not notice, but I'm hyped as hell too xDDD
Personally, I think PC games are superior to consoles, full stop. That's mainly because I absolutely suck at using a controller and find a keyboard and mouse much easier.

Some games, especially console ports, are impossible to play without a controller, but I know exactly how you feel. Nothing beats KB+M, even for FPSs. Assassin's Creed is fairly simple in terms of controls on an actual console, at least Brotherhood. AS2 was, like, 50-50%, the golden middle.

Not even gonna comment on the first game, for me it sucked so bad I was having second thoughts about moving to the second and Brotherhood at all. That was a nightmare I'm never gonna think about again xD

I feel sorry for Mac users. One of my friends wanted AC on a Mac but only has one mouse click. Assassin's Creed pretty much revolves around using your right click to free-run, block, tackle etc. Though I suppose that's what you get for choosing Apple over Microsoft.

With FPS's anyway, I find it much, much easier to use a keyboard and mouse. I hate joysticks as whenever I even nudge it upwards, my view shoots up more than I intended.

I'll probably end up buying it but......

The last installment tried to improve but got it wrong in a number of ways. The freeplay aspect was handy, but meant that you could achieve too much too early on. As such I had the armour of Romulus way too early - made fighting very tedious and repetitive.

Again making money was pointless, you peaked way too early and made it all irrelevant. If they had paced these two aspects a little better it would have been far better than it was.

I get the feeling we'll have a similar game, with bad pacing just with a different backdrop.

That's true. But I'm the sort of person that finishes all of the side quests and gets all the best items first and then finishing the main storyline. I also had the armour of Romulus as well as the Sword of Altair before I was halfway through the game. All the same, I still found it fun.

that's generally the way I play. The game was brilliant in the middling segments (dealing with towers etc). But I got everything too early, as such the treasure boxes were largely redundant as well as some of the guild quests. I've got Altairs Sword, why do I want to spend a good while to get a simple bone dagger???

Well, hopefully we can expect a more entertaining game in Revelations. Only two months to wait now.
