Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows

The Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows lets you take your quality, wireless gaming experiences that you enjoy on your console and experience them on your Windows gaming platform.

Anyone able to get this device working in Windows 7? Mine won't even light up unless I reboot into my Vista install. I've already tried installing the software for Vista off the Microsoft website.

Sure, the corded controller itself may work, but the wireless reciever won't even power on or show up in device manager. I have yet to try using a play-n-charge kit to see if the controller detects that way.

Thanks KRONie, I kinda figured it would work just fine.

I've since found out that my adapter is totally useless, it won't power on when plugged in to 3 seperate machines, tested on XP, Vista, and 7. I think it may just be coincidence though, it had been a couple days before installing 7 that I last used it.

If installing 7 with this plugged in broke it, what are the cances that M$ will replace it?

That won't help. The device won't power on now. Drivers won't fix fried hardware.

Oh I missed the last sentence of your previous post. MS might replace it just say that the beta messed it up.

if its still on warranty then MS will most likely replace it for you.
also i was installing w7 whith this receiver plugged in, so no, its not windows that broke it. have you tried using it on a different machine? or maybe different USB slot?

Yes to both. Multiple PCs, multiple USB ports, it won't light up or even show up in Device Manager as a power drain on a USB hub. Not sure what caused this but I'm willing to bet it's more than just software related.
