Installing the sims (original version) will it work?

Should work fine, its rare for an old game not to work on a new PC, sure it may not run to its full potential but in theory it should work fine, I recently brought Rollercoaster Tycoon, the very first one and im running that with only very very minor hitches (come to think of it that may be because im terriable at it :/) But should run just fine...
