    Strange problem with BF3. Help!

So, This problem also happened in the Beta of the game, i wrote it off as a problem with the Beta. When i'm playing BF3, My game will crash and when i AltTab BF3, my screen is in negative colors, then when i end the process from Task Manager, Everything goes back to normal. In-game, everything is fine, game play great. I'm thinking it's an system inadequacy problem.

    Hi,
The core engine of certain video games simply don't support the "AltTab" function and switching between the game and any other program running. It's always a bad idea to do so as it sometimes may create video hardware errors (i.e. GPU driver error) which could explain the strange color problem.
Not only that, but many games present some kind of weird picture artifacts when the game freezes and you want to use the Task Manager to kill the process. This is nothing unusual.

As for the crashes themselves, are they created beforehand or after you AltTab the game?

The crash occurs before, I AltTab to get out of the already crashed game.

You don't specify what CPU you have but, by association and by looking at your Video Card (it is a very good Card), I think it should be at least a Quad Core.

Now, being said that, I friend with same Specs I have a Q9650. 8GBs of Ram and a GTX260 had no problems with the game. It did receive a notice the first time the game was opening that it needed to upgrade to the latest Nvidia Drivers (Ver 285.26 I think it said?) so my advice to you is...

Download the latest drivers for your Video and Audio Cards, save to a safe locations, uninstall old drivers, restart, uninstall PhsyX as well, restart to safe mode, run the Driver sweeper, restart and install both new drivers with Elevated admin rights (right click on exe and Run as Administrator).

    Good Luck

Does it still happen when things are at stock speeds? Also hope you have a good cooling pad or something as just because you can, overclocking a laptop isn't really a good idea.

    Hello everyone,
I have similar crashes usually when playing in a huge map(the ones with planes). The game freezes with repeating sounds and I'll have to end the process manually....
Do you think the problem might be that i have a 2 CORE cpu running next to my GTX 460 1GB ?(check specs also for detailed info)
