    DirectX 11 won't work

I have windows 7 with Directx11. I am trying to run a game (The sims2) that requires only direct 9.0c. I always thought that having the latest version is a good thing. The problem is that whenever I try to play the game it gives me the following error: “ FAILED TO FIND ANY DIRECTX 9.0C COMPATIBLE GRAPHICS ADAPTERS IN THIS SYSTEM” I then downloaded the DirectX end-user Runtime Web installer from the Microsoft website. Is this the correct “drivers”? The problem still did not go away. I have an Samsung p580 laptop. It meets all the minimum requirements of the game. I also made sure I have all the latest video and sound card drivers. Can you please help! The game worked fine with windows xp.

    Hi and welcome to SevemForums!

Please reinstall the game first. These games tend to include their directx installer and it is the best to use it with the game.
When you are installing dx 9 you are not downgrading, it is installed separately from other versions.

    DirectX9c
Here> Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - DirectX End-User Runtime
    Click the Download button.

This will download and install the parts of DirectX9c that your system may need plus any updates for the DX9. Microsoft web site so it is safe.
