    Question about BF3 performance

I have been reading reviews about BF3 performance and have been left with some questions. According to what I have read, with my current set up, I should only be getting around 20fps with high settings, aa off and @1080p. I am getting more like high 30s to low 60s. Is there any logical reason for this? Anything that would be useful at least?

20FPS seems a bit low with your specs. Granted the video card isn't a super high end card, but the rest of the box is more than adequate. I'm running an older processor, (q9550) but running a newer video card (GTX 570) and I have no problems with smooth gameplay at 1920x1080 with AA on.

Agreed!! I play mostly on the weekends (BC2, Crysis 2, Killing Floor etc etc) up to 5-6 hours straight and have never had a glitch, hiccup, crash or BSOD...nothing on the 280.26 drivers. I install 285.62 specifically for BF3 and not more than 20 mins into the campaign I get the "display driver has stopped responding and recovered" BS (first time ever on my current rig). So I go to MP and I get the crash to desktop 2 times in about 3 hours of play. Then it proceeded to crash to desktop while playing Killing Floor. I am thinking this set of drivers may not like me as I certainly don't like this set of drivers. Others may not have had any issues but I have and again, never had any issues on the previous set.

Yeah, the problems seem hit or miss. I'm on the 285.62 with my eVGA Nvidia 570GTX and it's working flawlessly for me. But I've read about many others who aren't getting similar results.

Wait...are you complaining because your frame rate is higher than you expected??

amd 11.9 has caused a couple of random crashes to a white desktop for me.

did it twice tonight, hoping the latest 11.10 version will fix it.

I'm using a Radeon 6790 and a AMD x6 1065t 2.9ghz with 6 gigs of ram and I hit 30+ FPS on ultra everything, no AA and 1680x1050 needless to say I'm pretty pleased with those results.

I played on my GTX570 tonight, at 1920x1080 with everything on Ultra and had no problems. I didn't check my FPS, but they didn't feel like they were dropping out at all...things were smooth the entire time.
