THATS it! haha.. yeah I confused both patches. But yeah, Crysis has 1.1, 1.2 and then 1.2.1 if I remember correctly. I believe if you just download 1.2 and 1.2.1 and install them it would suffice.

Let me know if you have the updates installed, you can find them here:

Thanks mate, but I already had 1.2.1 installed. It's probably just the no-dvd I'm using that isn't playing nice with it.

yoman, where are you on this? where you able to fix your issue? sorry man, hectic last two weeks.

One question I got is, why is the installation of Crysis on the x86 folder and not the 64 folder? and if it installed on the x86, how good or verified is the x64 executable?

There because the game comes with/installs both the 32 and 64 bit version, and automatically switches to the 64 bit exe when you start the game. Actually it starts with the 32 bit, but changes over to the 64 bit version a few seconds after startup (can be seen while watching it in Task Manager, dual monitors helps to see it happen).

And yes the game is working fine here. Not sure what to tell you to fix it as I just re-installed it and patched it to 1.2 (didn't bother with the 1.21 yet), and it just works.

I thought the 1.2.1 was a hotfix for a x64 bug... did I read this wrong perhaps?

Yep you did,

Description:
The 37MB sized hotfix for Crysis fixes the known security hole in the game code which casues client and server crashes. Be sure that you have patch 1.2 installed before, since this is required to apply the hotfix to your Crysis installation.

I know this is probably stupid of me to say, but have you tried running it on 32Bit with Compatibility settings on?
