Unable to find friend's LAN server(Counter Strike 1.6)

    Hi,

Recently my friend decided to play the classic games again, which is Counter Strike 1.6 Multiplayer. The only problem is when they created the LAN server. I couldn't join them in game due to server not shown in the LAN server list; in fact if i create mine server, they can't join me giving them an error stating that unable to join local client (class C).

I need a solution for this, so that I can allow them to join me or vice versa.

    Any helps will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Try checking your firewall for any attempt to block Counter Strike from using network capabillities, or if theirs a black list, make sure it's not in there.

Also, it would be worth checking your antivirus software too - try disabling it temporarilly while playing Counter Strike to see if that rectifies the issue. :)

ok the next item to look at is your IP settings and network. Make sure you all are on the same DNS server and all getting ips with the start of 192.168.xxx.xxx

Press windows+r then type ncpa.cpl pick the network you want to connect to, then pick ipv4, then click properties, then click advanced, then down the bottom untick automatic metric and type in the box below 1. Do this for both computers. Should work
