I need a good FPS Campaign game... help me out.

It seems I am pulling hairs here as I have been un-dusting my FPS games due to the lack of games as of late.

Games I have already played over, and over, and over again

    CoD 4
    CoD 5

    Crysis
    Warhead

    Graw II
    Vegas 2

FC2... Couldn't continue after 56% completion! Lego Star Wars is way more enternaining than this Eye Cany POS

Cryostasis... Tried the Demo, not my cup of tea.

CoJ:BfB... WWII type weapons is as far back as I am willing to go.

ArmaII... Tried it, couldn't pass the intitiation/waiting period. I am all for tactical but when I got to go to MIT to learn to use 250 different kb/mouse combinations, I rather walk away from it all

L4D... Tried it, tried it again wanting to get jiggy with it... to no avail.

Fallout 3... I hate talking and on this game I Talked 'till the cows came home... Uninstalled it prior to getting out of the bunker, couldn't continue on.

I see a couple of games coming down the pipeline (Wolfstein & Section 8) + others but not until November (are we there yet?).

it's an oldie, but have you tried medal of honor:airborne? i've recently reinstalled it and am having fun going through the single player missions again. it works fine on my 7

what was your problem with l4d?

fallout 3 gets much much better once you leave the vault! it's not really a campaign game, it's more of a freeform rpg - you can do more or less do as you please...

then there's bioshock - an absolute gem of a game, with a sequel on its way - i haven't tried it in 7 yet...

Bioshock plenty of people LOVED, highest ranked game on steam ever, other than HL and HL:2

if you have not played Half-Life 2, I'd highly recommend it, even tho its old, its an amazing game. Also, L4D single player is boring, but online is fun. I personally didn't play more than a few hours of bioshock, but plenty of others loved it.

My next 2 suggestions from seeing what you do and don't like with your above list would FIRST be F.E.A.R 2. It was actually a very fun game, I enjoyed FEAR 2 very much. it was a blast. scary as hell.

Next would be Dead Space, it was a popular one as well, but I just couldn't get over the 3rd person, over the shoulder to the side aiming.. it was a pain, but FEAR 2 was great. and if you don't mind 3rd person Dead space was a solid game. I still wanna try it again, but turn on V-sync if you get Dead space, you'll get lower FPS, but it will be smoother and easier to aim!

Oooo this is where i come in! (sick-o)

bioshock - is like the best game I've ever played (story/layout/controls, the works) i see it was previously mentioned, but you really have play it. friggin awesome.

mirrors edge - not really a fps, but still fun as hell. has akward times, where you fall to your death (a lot) before you find your way. but still worth a shot. (demo perhaps)

lost planet: colonies - fun if you like arcadeish shoot-the-s%&t out of everything games. campaines a little short, but online is fun.

be back with more. i have a whole stack of fps (my favs) i'll look through. i know theres a lot more, i just cant think of...

Unfortunately learning all the combination's is the least of that games problems at the moment

As others have said, once you get outside the bunker and a couple of hours into the world outside - you'll be hooked :)

    + another for F.E.A.R 2: it's an enjoyable FPS

+ 1 for Mirror's Edge - it's not really a FPS per se, but it is unique and very enjoyable.

+ another for Bioshock. I only played it on the 360, but it is quite fun.

Have you heard of NecroVision? It's basically a 'leave your brains at the door' and just go kill stuff 'old school' type of shooter. It certainly has it's moments.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky -
admittedly can be somewhat buggy, but both are immersive and fun to play. Out of the two though, Clear Sky is better.

    Hi
Well the best of all time
Counter Strike Source, amazing game lol
Bioshock is absolutly awsome, as is Dead Space. DS has the realism to it i found, i actually papped it a couple times. Very intense game although the ending i thought would be better, still fantastic game none the less. Well worth it

Sure I have, played it multiple times, didn't mentioned it because of how old it is

Hard to explain really, I just didn't mesh with the game very well, it felt extremely arcade-ish and the control were not as ergonomics as I am used to.

I have heard this multiple times, I just can't endure the process of getting passed the vault... is there a cheat to start the game after the vault? I may go for that.

Yes, I also played it, like it so so, couldn't get around the fact that you need to buy your bullets and other stuff, don't have a lot of patience for that sort of thing and it annoys me like you wouldn't believe... I'm weird that way

Same as Moh:A, I recently went at it again with that Magnificent HD mod... very cool game (even though I scare easily! )

Can't wrapped my head around the idea of waiting 45 mins to get into a game, get killed almost instantly and they waiting another few mins to respawn only to rinse and repeat... it seems I got to start learning to do just that

Yes, Yes... how could I forget FEAR, played them all, even FEAR 2, though, as stated before, I scare easily. I liked the fact that you get to use that big robot thingy.

3rd view is a PITA for me, had enough with Vegas 1 & 2 cover system and playing a bit of Halo with my kids.

I am not 100% sure but I think I played the demo and couldn't get around it. If not, I know I played it at a friend's house and decided it was definately not my cup of tea... I am more the "Shoot real guys" kinda gamer, although, it seems I play Sci-fi games more than I do humans but it is just the fact that there are more Sci-Fi good games than regular Human games.

One my kids is playing that game on Xbox 360, I just peep for a bit and found it comical but didn't pay much attention to it. Perhaps a 2nd look is in order to make up my mind... I will definately look for a demo though.

Yes, I also played this one, even though I think I did a Once Over only as it was to Spacey/Arcade-ish for me... I hate and avoid Bosses like the plague.

Nope, never heard of it but you can bet I'll look for a demo or videos about the game to see if I should spend money on it or not.

Try as I might, couldn't get pass the "Need to buy or trade stuff" to shot someone.

Again, I am old school, give me a gun, give me my ammo and let me at them. I don't mind using WWII, Sci-Fi or Contemporary weapons but, PLEASE, do't make me go look for Diamonds, sing in a contest, dance my heart out in order to buy more ammo or get upgrades... I feel like killing someone for real.

Yes, sorry, that's what I ment but, alas, not what everyone else understood, thanks in part to my lack of grammar and vocabulary... blame my parents as they sent me to this country when I was in my 20's

Actually, Max Payne 1 & 2 were First Person Shooters and I played them as well but I just didn't want to list all the games I have played since 20 yrs ago

I thought this game was just a MultiPlayer and not a Single/Campaign game.

Thanks guys, it appears I have played the games already or not my cup of tea... guess I have to lower my bar a bit huh!

Gears of War 2 is quite possibly one of the best games I've ever played. (Gears of War 1 is a close second, but not as good as the second one!) It has an immersive storyline, easy to learn controls, raises video games to an art form, and has beautifully rendered graphics. The cut scenes are a treat too, but you can skip them if you'd like to just kill things.

Edit: Apparently it's only on Xbox 360, but I definitely suggest Gears of War 1 for PC!
