Having just finished Oblivion I have to say right off the bat that I'm hating the mechanics in Skyrim already. The game's mechanics seems dumbed down and easier compared to Oblivion. Guess I'm too use to Oblivion's game play. I also hate the world map.
Anyway I'll warm up to the game the way I did when moving from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 2 - which again, it seemed like ME2 took a back seat to ME1 in terms of game machanics.
Graphics wise Skyrim looks pretty good though.
Question on sound though - anyone else notice the voice sounds seems to be coming from all over when talking to characters outside? Sounds like the voices are coming from the sky - like god is talking to you
*sigh* tablets haven't killed the pc yet, but consoles are sure hammering the nails in pc gaming's coffin.
Amen to that :/ most PC games nowadays are pathetic ports of the console versions and get released months after the console ones Need for Speed Hot Pursuit must be the latest example I've seen of a PC version that is actually better than the console versions on all aspects (graphics, online gameplay etc.). The PCs some people can get can provide a way more awesome experience than a PS3 or Xbox 360, yet the market isn't large enough. Just like Rockstar saying they'd bring games to the PC if there was a monetary benefit from doing so (namely the fact that Red Dead Redemption isn't and probably will never be on PC )
On the brighter side, I bought LA Noire for PC today Hopefully I will find it more enjoyable than the PS3 one. Y'know one thing that I miss from consoles? Trophies/achievements. Yes, they're just some digital 'badge', but at least I feel more compelled to play a game well Put of the loads (seriously, over 50 modern ones and goodness knows how many old ones) of PC games I have, how many have Games for Windows Live achievements? TWO. That's right, just TWO. It would be nice if I could at least link my legitimate physical copies of PC games to Steam so I could get the Steam achievements, but nooooo, they want more moneys :/
battlefield 3 pulled a few nails out for me!
Ill admit i gave up pc gaming for a year maybe 2 and stuck to xbox and ps3. but at heart im a pc gamer, and when the non crappy ports come along and really show a pc's power it makes me glad i can play them.
