Well take alook at what people are saying all over. :) Overall it's a completely awsome game/experience.

yeah.. the water could look better, and the UI is a bit klunky with inventory etc. and I REALLY wish I could use range weapons from horseback. But the overall game experience is just so vast, immursive and compelling and at times very funny. And the graphics really to approach realism from time to time. Riding along the cobblestone road through the aspens with the sun backlighting them was uncannily real. The lighting is particularly good in places.

    On Skyrim's graphics...

3 - the consolish graphics. visually the game does look a few years old. modern gpu's can do so much better.
I have to disagree. You have to consider the era (and area) the game is set in - We're not looking at lush forest areas here; we're looking at a lot of barren areas or mountain sides. So in that case they aren't going to look like Crysis, or Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Yeah, there are some low textures here and there, but overall the game looks pretty amazing.

I also look at what’s going on in the scene, water, mist, water falls - One example area is Eldergleam (side quest The Blessings of Nature) I was truly amazed when I entered that cavern and saw the area with the huge tree in the middle...

Add to this the ambient sounds and you have an area that you can sit in for hours and get lost in thoughts. Really nice scene.

Anyway we can always find something wrong with the graphics of any game but overall this game has some pretty amazing graphics and scenery that's very enjoyable.

i've noticed the odd bug where you can't pick up the occasional item off the ground, especially arrows.
Yeah, I've noticed that with arrows only. Haven't found any other items though.

I have however noticed the occaisional graphical glitch when riding a horse and getting too close to hard surfaces......

    your horse becomes invisible

Back to the graphics - while they aren't mind blowing, yeah, there are some bad textures here and there, the graphics overall are far from old, especially the lighting, environmental effects, and others displayed in areas like Eldergleam, or the mountain area leading to Hrothgar.

Now I'm sure there'll be a texture mod, just as Oblivion had, but overall the game looks good.

    My two cents.

I'm unable to play L.A. Noire until probably this weekend at the least but I am really really excited about it, despite having played it on PS3 Just a side question, how much HDD space does it take up? (I think I'll need to clear up a lot of space before I install it ).
Recently poked my head back into CoD Modern Warfare (1) and enjoyed it visually on this PC, though I prefer the Bad Company 2 controls to these, especially with all the finger acrobatics I have to do on the keyboard with Modern Warfare
Not really sure about the PS3 version, but the PC version takes around 13,4GB
    ooh good, thanks

While it may be true that Skyrim can't really compare with the graphics of Oblivion (IF you had all those mods installed), that doesn't mean that Skyrim's at a flaw here. There WILL be mods for Skyrim just like Oblivion; so stick around it and keep it installed for a while. If for nothing else, you can still wander around repeating the same quests over and over, just on different locations... Well, at least until you discover ALL of them.
I saw a friend's map of Skyrim last night and I was like DAAAAAAAAMMMMNNN are you serious? Yes, the map is THAT huge and populated with all tons of goodies (and baddies, of course).

True, the game wouldn't be by Bethesda if it didn't have certain ridiculous bugs and glitches, but at least it's much better than initial Oblivion xD

Take this from one who is actually playing the game.... I've yet to run into any show stopping bugs

BTW you can't get any game that doesn't have glitches, patch(es) or not

Anyway you keep waiting while I keep playing
