Max Payne works for me as well. I found it entertaining at least. I didn't have any trouble running the game and the controls worked fine for me. I started playing with an X-box controller, which works better than a M+KB for 3rd person type games. Then I bought this:

I finished it up using the left half [using X-padder] and my Razer Naga mouse. That's my new FPS setup and it works amazingly well as I've got enough keys for any control scheme between the left half of this thing and the mouse.

Max Payne played smoothly all the way through at max settings, and if you actually recall, there was just as much cutscene and exposition in the other two, it was just in that stylized comic book format. Previous posts seem to be remembering the first two games through rose colored glasses. The Noir style graphic novel approach they took kind of required it, as Noir is a lot of exposition and talking just by it's very nature. Max Payne 3 was no worse than the other two in that regard.

I'm now getting into some shooters. I've got a ton of catching up to do game wise. BF 3, Medal of Honor WF, Doom 3 BFG [I have the original moddable versions of D3 and RoE, but I'm playing BFG just because I can run it in 3d], Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, DMC, The Cave, Duke Nukem 3D Megaton, Hitman Absolution, Killing Floor, Pain Killer HD, Torchlight 2, Antichamber [I'm a good ways into it, but didn't finish as I got distracted by other stuff], Brutal Legend [again], and I'm most of the way through FC 3 Blood Dragon.

FC3:BD is awesome btw, in it's own weird way it's as much a piece of 80s nostalgia as GTA: Vice City. Got a Duke Nukem/Bulletstorm kind of vibe going for it. I actually like it more than FC3 to be honest.

It's the action movie every action director only wished they could have made in the 80s. Loud, stupid, and so terrible it's funny. If you were there for the 80s you remember a time when movie posters/VHS covers for Sci-fi of this type often looked nothing like the actual film. This actually delivers on the promises the artwork made back then. Fans of Arnold, Stallone, and Dolf shouldn't miss out on it.

Right now I'm playing Black Ops multiplayer. I bought the "Annihilation" map pack a few days ago but there are no servers playing them, so looks like a waste of 15€
