    Pc games are gettting expensive!

I just want to say that iv noticed pc games are getting more expensive!
What has happened pc games used to be £25 max!
now there £30-35 for big titles!
Don't they know we have a huge cost in keeping a rig up to date with the demand for graphics e.t.c!
    why is this occurring

less people play games on PC nowadays, so when companies do make games, they know that their profit margins aren't going to be as big as Xbox 360 or PS3, so they bump up prices to try and make some money, don't worry, I feel the same as you my friend, especially when back in the day, DLC was free and patches actually fixed problems with games, now it seems that PC support has gone out the window, most games nowadays are just rip offs and not even tailored for PC's anymore, they're usually bad ports from console, which I still find hard to believe as all games are developed on a PC anyway!

Basicly they are keeping PC pricing at what they charge for console software.

    From the U.S. perspective...

Actually PC game prices haven't risen like a lot of other things. I remember when PC games were $39 bucks (US) up until around 1999 where they moved to $49 bucks and remained that way till about a year ago…. That’s ten years at 49 bucks. And even then, not all titles were being sold at 50 bucks a whack.

Anyway when you consider inflation, PC games have been kept relatively low considering the work that goes into them. The fact that PC games are going for 60 bucks a whack now really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone considering their console counterparts have been going for that price for years.

It sucks, but it shouldn't be a surprise.

    My two cents.

    i suppose u both have a point!
i like the way you describe the steady pricing of pc games!
but i fear if they push prices to high,we will get a rise in piracy and torrent downloads as alot of people may not be able to afford the games?
and seek other means of playing them !
which will be bad for pc gaming and the games developers pockets?
but i suppose they allready thought of this ,they have the consoles to fall back on :360,ps3,wii.dss,psp ,even mobile phones!
pc gaming is dieing and its hurting me

i done research a while ago into console to pc ports!
In a nut shell its code that is written for the console so the console can run it well on its set up.with its power and way it runs of its cpu if you like,
when its ported to pc the code is not very good for a pc setup,so the game is running not using the power a pc offers,
I agree with you mad,but i guess they cant be bothered to fix it propa for us pc gamers

Newer PC games are getting expensive because they run fittingly on the latest hardware but only a few percentage of the market can afford the latest hardware thus there is little demand for it (games) and whenever there is little demand, prices go high. It's basic economics.

Console ports to PC call for console game prices.

While that may happen, and is happening now, you could give games away for dirt cheap and some lazy arse will still pirate the game, regardless of price so...

Anyway everything is getting expensive nowadays.... If they could find a way, we'd be paying for air.

Paying 60 dollars to watch movie scenes and be taken by the hand everywhere and be told where to move sure is getting expensive
