    CoD: MW 3, DirectX error

I've been playing MW3 just fine until the Paris stage came along, now randomly DirectX error happens and the game shuts down! I've played Battlefield 2, Fifa 12 for an hour or so and nothing like this happened (also while playing MW 3, card temp didn't go much high- 51 degrees max). I've reinstalled directx 9 and the installed the latest driver. In fact. come to think of it, these problems may have started after the latest 11.11 catalyst driver install.Anyone encounter such an issue?

What was the direct x error?

Could be a number of thing causing it.

umm, it was 'directx has encountered an error', no numbers I think. Last time the game crashed, sound remained with black screen but when I clicked 'OK' did the game shutdown completely. In the meantime I've completed the game, but the mystery remains (to me). I updated the sound driver before finishing the game, it didn't crash for the last few missions. But that may have been pure luck!

Set the shader models to automatic.

There's been an issue posted around the steam forum.
    It may help.
