Does any sort of message pop up? If so, please take a screenshot and post back.

Sorry, I mean when you start the game what happens exactly? Does the game crash? Is there an error message that comes up? Does the screen go black? Does the computer restart/shut down?

Also, you may want to re-upload that screenshot with the first tab blacked out. Your email can be seen and that' not something you want spammers to get a hold of.

Did you download the updated installer?

You need the Windows 7 Updates first.
You can install the updates from here:
    TheSims2.com - Updates
Expansion add-on packs, most be install in order, Pack 1, pack 2 etc.

If theog's suggestion above does not work, try reinstalling the game.

    Also navigate to:
    C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents

And see if there's a folder called EA Sports/Sims 2.
