    Amazing!

It is truly a First World Miracle.

The beta 1.4 patch fixes the Skyrim save game bug! Even after Bethesda themselves said they were not going to fix it for people that already had the problem.

I installed the patch last night and started the game up. I was standing just feet away from an outdoor cell that would CTD with my old game. I walked forward and it paused for about 1-2 seconds... then continued on. no CTD. I then went to Understone Keep in Markarth, the #1 worst and usually one of the first cells to die and opened the door... long pause... and I'm in!

It looks like the possible object overflow situation is now being caught and a real-time object clean-up performed as you enter overloaded cells now.

    Unexpectedly amazing.

This is why being a pessimist is so great. 90% of the time you are simply not disapointed that things completely fail and 10% of the time you are actually elated that something is done right! Rather than the optimist that is 90% of the time bitterly disapointed and 10% of the time merely content that something is done right... :)

Yes, once it's out of beta. Or you can enable the downloading of beta patches from your steam account settings and then it will DL automatically today :)

Watch your speaker settings as there's been an issue reported with loud roaring sounds happening when you open the map world map in certain areas.

    - 1.4 Beta - Loud Noise Corruption & World Map - Bethesda Softworks Forums
    - Skyrim Beta Out (Patch 1.4) - Page 4 - Steam Users' Forums

To get the Beta patch make sure you're logged into Steam and do the following....
    1. Click on Steam in the upper menu
    2. Select Settings
    3. Under the Account tab, go to the Beta Participation section and select Change.
    4. A drop down menu will appear. Select Skyrim Beta.
    5. Select OK.
    6. Steam will now restart. After Steam restarts, Skyrim will be updated to the Beta version currently available.
BTW I've not tried to patch yet myself as I'm currently on less than Dial-up till later this week.
