heard this game has issues in textures and some lag only reason i haven't bought this game
I've been PC gaming since 1998 and have never played a game that didn't have bugs or imperfections. So.....???? It's the nature of the beast.

As one who is actually playing the game, and not listening to those who aren't, I can clearly say it's a great game. Does it have it have its issues, yeah, what game didn't or doesn't?

That said you're entitled to you opinion, but I can't see how you can trash a game you've never played

And a reminder - games are very dependent on both hardware and software setup.

Anyway we can debate this til elephants learn to fly so I'll just move on :)

Saying the game doesn't lag at all isn't a reality. Was just noticing the huge stuttering/lag I'm getting inside certain caves/indoors, even after this 4GB LAA update. Check my specs, you won't see a weak system there either.

It can all depend on what settings you have set for the game, what GFX card/drivers, etc. Or not.

That looks more video driver related, than game related.

And Lag can be diminished somewhat by lowering details etc - but the 55xx series isn't particularly powerful, so there will be spikes/dips regardless.

Are you running the driver that enabled AO? That really exacerbated the stuttering. Setting it to performance helps, but it looks like crap when moving (lots of flickering). Quality looks good, hammers performance but it's too nice to disable. A GPU overclock really helps with the min fps, but it's still going to stutter. It's just an inherent issue with the game engine

I am using those drivers, but I quickly set AO back to Global Off the day after they came out weeks ago, after it was making my trees in certain places washed out/blurry/bad pixelation. Same stuttering with GPU OC applied or stock, yeah..

I've noticed 'distant' trees look a little off, but they seem to be fine up close, but I just put that down to using FXAA - maybe that driver affected AF rendering as well.

I had the same deal in FONV which didn't have AO, but could force FXAA - it's a take your pick what causes what with this game at times

If you've played any Bethesda games you're going to get lag/stuttering. I know there are some pretty stout systems out there and the game still lags.

@ airbot - to be clear, I didn't mean to imply the game itself can't be, or isn't problematic. In fact I did acknowledge the game has issues.

That said, if your hardware/software isn't up to snuff a performance hogging game like Skyrim is going to pose problems.

My point to M1GU31 however is that NO game is without issue.

Anyway for those with ATI cards the 12.1 Cat drivers are working really good for me. Since moving to them the lag/stutter has decreased and is especially noticable near the Mages's colledge where I used to lag like crazy. Now it seems to be all but gone with these drivers.

im not saying that games wouldnt have issues i just didn't like that bug i saw in his screenshot with missing textures and i heard how the game was doing bad on the xbox and ps3 also especially on ps3 so its having issues across all platforms that was my concern

Yeah, mine was with some trees pretty up close. They were noticeably blurry/washed out all the sudden - like looking through a fogged up window. Toggled the AO on and off, and knew it was definitely because of it, so not using that. lol

    @sygnus

My point was to vierasnipers comments a page back of must be user error - "the game doesn't lag".

    Yeah...in spots, it does.
