I like some of the combinations of armour that Lydia comes up with
she certainly doesn't mind mixing it up, does she..?!!
Oh .. thats just wrong! LOL
I still need more Dragon scales it seems
I had upgraded my Glass Armor to Legendary and its a good deal better than the Dragon Scale this point
Just need another couple dragons and Ill be good though. Want to keep it all matching.
Just curious, who has everyone found the most useful follower?
Ive been running with Aela mostly, but just picked up Aranea. Gave her a few things I picked up from mage College Quests.
Although she got me suspended from the Mage College while fighting a dragon.
She blew up a student in the middle of the fight.
I know it was her because it was a Frost dragon, and the little guy was laying on the ground afterward still burning.
I dont use fire magic, and she had a Fireball staff equipped and a flame pet out so ....
Im not entirely sure it was a accident either.
Mjoll the Lioness is my follower. She has the most health out of all the followers and is quite strong too. Equipped with full Daedric armor and a Daedric longsword she's unstoppable. She simply doesn't die. But really, it depends whether you want a warrior, thief or mage. I'd just go with whoever is like you and has similar talents.
Hahaha... I just completely failed at the Valthiem Towers quest! Looted all of the corpses there, found I was carrying too much and had to walk all the way back to Whiterun! How do I carry more? I am only level 2 1/2 and don't have enough gold for a house.
increasing your stamina improves your carrying capacity.
also, if you get a companion, you can trade stuff with them, and they can take quite a bit of weight - very useful when you've just killed a dragon.
later on, you can enchant items to let you carry more, and make/find potions to give you a temporary boost.
oh, and there's a pickpocketing perk you can get later too.
personally i leave all the heavy/cheap stuff and only pick things up if i need them, or if they're worth more than 10 gold per unit weight, as i get tired of having to visit all the shops to sell it all.
ok, first of all you have to complete the 'dragon rising' quest, by killing a dragon just outside whiterun. something happens and everyone goes 'wow', and they think you're the bee's knees.
the big guy in whiterun, the jarl balgruuf, is impressed and makes you a thane, and appoints a housecarl, named lydia. she can be one of your followers - talk to her and say 'follow me' or similar. there are others, such as a woman in the drunken huntsman, or a choice of two in riverrun, depending on how you did one of the early quests there.
as far as buying a house is concerned, first of all you need 5000 gold. you then talk with the jarl's adviser in dragonreach called proventus avenicci, and he gives you a key to the house next to the blacksmith in whiterun. you can then spend more money to decorate it.
