Crash to Desktop during gaming
Everytime I play a game (MW2 or UT3) and it has also done it while converting some video files to a different format, it get application.exe has stopped responding. When gaming it is only like 5 mintues after starting actual game play that it crashes. I have tried troubleshooting myself, as well as talking with Activision (I play MW2 the most) and no dice.
The error code that the Exception Code that the Event Viewer gives me is 0xc0000005, which upon a google search says that it usually means bad RAM or a virus/malware issue. I have tried different RAM and even after a clean format (no other programs installed) still crashes.
System Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3.0 Processor
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS
4 GB DDR2 RAM (240 pin 800 speed)
Windows 7 Pro x64
Things I have tried:
-Different RAM (All combinations of my current RAM 1gb-4gb)
-Different Video Card
-Different Mother Board
-Different Harddrive
-Different Monitor
-Different DVD drive (games dont use the drive but I thought wth ill try it)
-Upgraded Power Supply
-Replaced Processor
-Ran Memtest (using UBCD) = this detected errors, sometimes. I could run the test, get an error. Run it again same configuration and get no errors. Run it on the sticks individually and get no errors. Put them all back in and get errors... maybe. This is why I thought MoBo, but when MoBO replaced still had the issue.
-Checked all the drivers, all updated
-Ran MW2/Steam as Admin
-Ran MW2/Steam as Admin in Vista Compatibility
-0xc0000005 has also been tied to DEP problems so I created an exception there
-Ran nTune to optimize my system
I have run out of things to test. If any of you have any ideas of what I can do That would be great. Im all out of hardware to switch out
