Ok I had problems with UT3 7057 64bit , then I found if I placed the directX files in the Steamapps/common, ut3 folder, it ran fine ???

I have an Nvidia geforce 8800 gts and it doesnt run UT3. It doesnt display the ads at the beginning during load but the sound is there. I can play for about 20 minutes in Instant Action/Campaign before the game locks up.
I get a warning before saying that the drivers I am using are not supported by UT3. I was wondering if it is possible to install vista video drivers on WIN7

Apparently , after a total clean out of the ols drivers , then install the vista drivers , as win7 can use vista drivers (something to do with the same Kernel) .... anyway , it has solved a lot of probs for others

I dont know why it would give you that error. Usually it should continue rendering the game as it can with the current drivers. I would go with Ehoa's suggestion and do a driver sweep

    oh my whats wrong now?

    rc1 x64,8800gts,x-fi xtrememusic,4gb,core2duo 2,6
    185.81
    steam version

no matter which settings i use, i get like 20 fps when im looking into the middle of a map which is unplayable. i remember this working at around 60-70 fps at least even with supermax settings. do you recon its because of x64 and maybe the beta drivers?

edit: problem solved itself with newest 185.85 drivers :)

Hey, not sure that sounds weird. One thing I noted that when I installed RC, I put on the Win 7 drivers and they never took over the microsoft drivers. When I installed the Vista 64 Drivers they took over and that fixed the problem.

    Just a thought....

Oh post a DXDIAG (start>run>dxdiag>yes>save all information)....

UT3 running fine through Steam for me on 7048, although I suck at the damn thing lol

    Good game though!
Let's PLAY!! I'm a n00b at the game and looking for humans to play with. If you are on Xfire (which has issues with Win7) please add Trainingwheels as a friend and let's try a duel.

    Thanks!
